Macau

Macau is a unique city with a combination of both the old and modern urban landscapes. The iconic Saint Paul Ruins would be the most significant landmark of Macau. Macau is also well known for its casinos which drew many visitors from China and Hong Kong, which can be easily accessible from these 2 countries through overland crossings as well as through the ferry transportation. One of the most visited place in Macau by travellers and tourists would be the Senado Square, where some of the heritage buildings and cathedral including the St. Dominic Church and The Ruins of St.Paul Cathedral were located. There were also many cake, pastries, biscuits, bread and confectionery and food shops that are located within the vicinity of Senado Square and you can get almost everything for family and friends from here as gifts and souvenirs from Macau. One of the must-see when in Macau apart from Ruins of St.Paul would be the A-Ma Temple. This is a Taoist temple and its not a big temple. The unique feature of A-Ma Temple is the staircase which lead to to top level of the temple where several massive rocks with Chinese characters carved on them were located. Other than Chinese temple and cathedrals, surely, one should not missed the casinos while in Macau. Even if you are not interested in gambling, it is still worth to take a stroll on the streets to capture the colourful sights of the multicoloured lights that light up Macau skyline during the night time. Try some of the street food when walking along the street for some sightseeing such as the "cheong fun" (rice noodle roll) and "shumai" (pork dumplings) which were tasty. Other than these, just like in Hong Kong, the skewers food is also popular in Macau. Get some taste of this while walking the backlane of the heritage shops within Senado Square area. Puddings is also another food that one should not missed while in Macau and what makes puddings being one of the best Macau dessert is the smoothness of it which melts in the mouth as soon as it enters. Another iconic food of Macau is the pork bread which consists of a piece of deep fried pork or pork steak which being sandwiched into a piece of bread and this should be accompany by a cup of nice cold milk tea.
